Regex URL Hunting
This is very geeky — very, very geeky. John Gruber offers this regex (search) pattern identifying URLs in a page or selection of text.
\b(([\w-]+://?|www[.])[^\s()<>]+(?:\([\w\d]+\)|([^[:punct:]\s]|/)))
I have a love / hate relationship with regex. Its power to create shortcuts in my workflow is incredible and there’s just something about its arcane, cryptic structure...

Voting? Confirmed!
Voted! My rural voting place was practically deserted and those who were there, both voting and volunteering, all appeared to be longtime AARP card holders. The Republican party had a heavy presence, both on the ballot and outside the polling place. I’m not upset that Republicans were well represented. I was upset that no other party seemed to want to bother. There was only one third...
