Remember Pong? Ever want to play as the dot?
Sam Morrison over at Bit Battalion created this wonderfully-clever experimental flash game that turns the classic game of Pong on its head. Gnop allows you to play as the paddle-bruised dot trying to make its escape from the eternal game of Pong its trapped in. If you want, you can always play a traditional game of Pong online. The strangest place I found it was on the 2009 BAFTA Awards...

Definitely "Digging" DSiware's Downloadables!
It’s clear that Nintendo was not fully behind it’s new downloadable market at launch, especially for the western world. Not being an insider I can only guess as to why, but I imagine the unreasonable secrecy companies wrap their new gadgets in prevents them from revealing their future hardware to potential game developers until launch and that creates the delay we’ve...

Blast Off! Soundtrack Free from Halfbrick
Halfbrick Games is giving away its small, but excellent, soundtrack for its PSN & Xbox Indie game “Blast Off!” (IGN calls it ”The best PSP Mini yet? Yup.”)

To celebrate the New Year and the critical acclaim we’ve received for Blast Off, we’ve decided to release the soundtrack for free as a super awesome gift to you all. Enjoy...
So This is the Year of the Tablet

Adding an extra UI layer to take advantage of the unique features of a tablet only imposes more...

So I Made This List of My Favorite Movies
We had a great time talking about movies this evening. Here’s my favorites, but the truth is I will watch anything by Wes Anderson, Hayao Miyazaki or Alfred Hitchcock. Add Terry Gilliam to that list as well. And John Huston. And most of Ron Howard’s movies (except the silly DaVinci Code nonsense). Here’s my favorites, arranged chronologically:
His Girl Friday (40’s)
The...

My Favorite Video Games of 2009
I originally wrote this list to take part in GiantBomb’s users picks for 2009.
This was a lot of fun to think about. But I had to go with Retro Game Challenge as #1 because of the way the game made me feel when I played it. It’s also why I added Treasure World at #9 to this list. Sometimes a game just scratches an itch that another player can never appreciate. In making this list, I...
