Voting? Confirmed!
Voted! My rural voting place was practically deserted and those who were there, both voting and volunteering, all appeared to be longtime AARP card holders. The Republican party had a heavy presence, both on the ballot and outside the polling place. I’m not upset that Republicans were well represented. I was upset that no other party seemed to want to bother. There was only one third party candidate on the entire ballot and no Democratic reps anywhere to be seen (with the exception of the yard signs that I despise). I understand the idea of picking one’s battles and our community is decidedly conservative, but Obama did very well here last year and I would have hoped that other parties — not just Democrats — could have seen this as an opportunity to diversify the political landscape.
