Weird. I’m 16,000 days old today.
We’re so tuned to measuring our lives in years that we rarely consider how arbitrary that measurement is. I use a countdown/timer app on my iPhone to track events. For curiosity’s sake I added my birthday a while back and it recently informed me of today’s milestone. That got me to thinking about the milestones I missed.
Here’s a quick look at several “day” milestones:
- 5,000 days = ~13yrs. 8mos.
- 10,000 days = ~27 yrs. 5mos.
- 15,000 days = ~41yrs. 1mo.
- 20,000 days = ~54yrs. 9mos.
- 25,000 days = ~68yrs. 6mos.
But we don’t have to focus on days, either. Months, weeks, hours, seconds - they’re all relevant in a subjective way. So I went a-googlin’ and discovered that the most comprehensive tool online for figuring out milestones related to your birthday can be found at timeanddate.com.
Oh, yes, there is an app for figuring out “day” milestones, too.
