KTUU 2008 Sarah Palin turkey interview (via ArkansasTVarchives): 

“Governor Sarah Palin is interviewed at a turkey farm while turkeys are slaughtered behind her.”

This woman was almost a heartbeat away from the Presidency?  Someone needs to have a talk with her about public perception (and how to use one word instead of ten). Just saying.

And please consider Tofurky.  It tastes like crap, but at least no turkeys are turned upside-down and decapitated while failed national candidates are interviewed casually holding their coffees, oblivious to the carnage that occurs behind them.
