From the Mr. Obvious File: People Drive Too Fast
We live on a side street where the speed limit is 25 miles an hour but the average speed of the cars that use the street as a shortcut or to ferry their children to and from the local Middle School is around 40 miles an hour. This means we see our fair share of accidents, including the one below from this morning. From the the length of the skid marks preceding the point of impact, its pretty clear that the truck was traveling a little faster than 40 mph. Luckily no one was hurt.
I’ve never lived in a place where I witnessed the aftermath and clean-up of so many fender-benders. I’m just waiting for one to careen off the small stone wall in front of our home.
