My “Current” Five Favorite Websites
Isn’t it funny how our browsing habits change? I recently went back and looked at my “bookmark bar” favorites from 5 years ago and discovered that it was almost completely different from my current list. Only one link below, my favorite online comic, is still at the top of my bookmarks.
Anyway, I dug through the nearly one hundred bookmarks in my “bookmark bar” and identified the websites I enjoy the most right now…
5. Mahalo Daily (news aggregator) - As news aggregators go I tend to switch often. Right now my favorite is Mahalo Daily, partly for the content and partly for the design. I just wish their news feed was more iPhone friendly.
4. User Friendly (web comic) - Cartoonist J.D. “Illiad” Frazer started drawing User Friendly in late 1997. I discovered it soon after and have been reading it ever since.
3. Daring Fireball (apple news and commentary) - There are a lot of websites that offer news about the style juggernaut that is Apple, but none are as “no nonsense and anti-fanboy” as Daring Fireball.
2. Nerdist (nerd blog) - A recent discovery, Chris Hardwick’s Nerdist is just a fun read, rich with the wit from his stand-up comedy, stints on Attack of the Show and articles for Wired magazine.
and my current favorite website is…
1. Offworld (game news) - This recently launched blog, written (for the most part) by Brandon Boyer, caught my attention with its first few posts. Focusing mainly on the indie game scene, Offworld highlights the games we all should be playing, the music of those games and everything else that is cool about them!
