It’s almost Spring and that means the annual photo of a crocus flower from the front garden! This one done up special using the Halftone app on my wife’s iPhone.
I first spotted this little critter back in early Spring. He (or she) had taken over our rickety, red birdhouse, preventing the normal yearly residents, the House Sparrows, from moving in this year. Haven’t seen him (or her) since, until today!
We had a bit of excitement last night. Sandy and I were still up and trying to muster the energy to go to bed when we heard a “crash” from downstairs. I was able to snag the little furry burglar on the first try, much to the chagrin of our cats, who were having a grand time.
Owl Pellet! Now that the snow has melted I can get in under the pine trees where our friend the owl is hanging out. Discovered a bounty of owl pellets beneath the tallest. No intact critter skulls, but plenty of bones. Its clear he hasn’t had a problem finding prey in the small field behind out house.
Spring is sneaking in. A crocus is blooming in our front garden. Might be the first in our neighborhood as we saw no other when we drove to the park today. This is the same crocus that blooms first every year.
From the Astronomy Photo of the Day site, an amazing image of the moon…

Sandy’s at the beach taking pictures with her camera. That’s the Pacific and a gull, no two gulls… ack, I’m bored.
